Knox beats Fox to win the Irish Open Championship at Ballyliffin Golf Club
Scotland’s Russell Knox holed a magnificent 40′ putt to win the play-off today, beating Ryan Fox from New Zealand to win the Irish Open at Ballyliffin, who also finished on -14. As a result Knox wins prize money of around £890,000, and has done no harm to his chances of appearing as a member of the European team in September’s Ryder Cup at Le Golf National Club near Paris. He also has climbed into the World Rankings top 50, which augurs well for an invitation to The Masters in 2019. Well done, Russell!
